Smile and be a blessing does not equal perfect. It does not equal that mistakes won’t be made. It doesn’t mean that anger won’t ever be present. It doesn’t mean that the path will not have any curves, turns or detours. It’s about brightening someone’s day and life. It means brightening your own day and life. It means not sitting down and giving up. It’s about persevering when you may just want to give up. It’s smiling.
When I smile at myself in the mirror or at someone, it is more than just a smile. It’s an act of kindness. I don’t want to say it’s simple because for some it’s not so simple to smile. It can be the hardest thing to do. Life tends to just throw punches and sometimes you can’t get out of the way. But when you choose to smile, the force of the punch isn’t so strong. And then when you not only smile, and you choose to allow God to be in you and around you, He is taking the force of the punch and allowing you to continue to trust Him to do everything that He said that He would do.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.~John 10:10
The life of abundance is so true. I have found that abundance for me, is just being happy no matter what (Philippians 4:11-13). I’m not happy because I have a lot of money (I don’t). I’m not happy because I have a ton of friends (I don’t). I’m not happy because I don’t have any problems because I do. I am happy because I choose to be despite of anything that is going on in my life. This happiness wasn’t an immediate decision. The happiness was me making up my mind finally to be happy. I made that decision shortly before my 34th birthday. That wasn’t an easy decision for me because I have always lived my life to make others happy even when it made me feel crummy. And even when it made my smiles even harder to dig up. This is my life of abundance. For you, your abundance may look different. One thing that I can tell you for sure is that if you allow God to truly lead your life, no matter what life brings to you, then He will do above and beyond anything you could ever ask or think of Him. Continue praying, continue seeking Him, continue asking Him, continue declaring that He is Lord.
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. ~Ephesians 3:20
Smile and be a blessing!
If you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I encourage you to know Him today, and have a life full of abundance. Say this prayer:
Jesus I believe that you are Lord. That you died and rose again. I ask you to forgive me of my sins. Come into my heart and live inside of me. And I will for you. Amen! You are saved!
