Every day we wake up knowing that there are so many hours in a day…24 to be exact. Some of us have a plan for every minute of every hour. While, some just “wing it.” And then others plan, but also plan for the unexpected. Something they all have in a common is that they may feel like there’s just not enough time in a day. I thought about this as I looked around to see what I was going to do for the day. I wasn’t feeling too well, my daughter missed the bus, and my son was just doing flips, literally. I thought, what to do today because clearly what I thought isn’t going to happen, lol. I am the type that tries to plan, but rolls with whatever. But one thing that I make time for regardless of anything that happens in my day is time with God. Not just prayer, but reading my Word, worshipping Him and praising Him. My day is always right because I put God exactly where He is supposed to be, first. And I know by doing this, my steps are ordered by Him.
Now you may think, I don’t have time to sit down, and do all those things when I get up, get everyone together, get to work, work, and then get ready for the evening. I have good news for you, putting God first is putting Him first in your heart. God knows all the things that you “need” to do in each of your days, but He still desires to be put first. And when He’s put first in your heart, then He will be put forth in everything that you do.
You can talk to God whenever and wherever you are. Try writing down some scriptures that you can read throughout your day. Sing a song of worship and praise, even if it’s just you singing it in your head. And stay in a place of thankfulness throughout the day. Time also is giving it to others. There are so many people that need your time. You can give them your time by just extending a simple, “Hello!” You can ask someone how their day is going, or even just smile as you pass someone by. God is pleased when we make the effort for Him. We make it for so many things, but I encourage you to never forget to give God His time. He blesses you with 24 hours every day and that is something to thank Him for.
Smile and be a blessing!
