My little boy is almost four and he loves to go his own way. We can be at a department store and he just can’t follow after me because he wants to go around all the racks. Now for me, this can be a pain because I am constantly saying, “Son, please follow mommy. Don’t let go of mommy’s hand baby. Stay with me.” And every now and again he will take off running at full speed, causing me to chase after him. Once I get hold of him, my first thought is to tell him, “don’t do that again! You have to stay with me or you will be lost! Don’t let go of mommy’s hand. Will mommy come to find you? Of course, but wouldn’t it be better if you would just stay with me so you know where I am, and I can show you the way to go?”….that’s how God is with us. He doesn’t want us to remain lost, but to be found!
~And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. Matthew 18:13
~For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. Luke 19:10
God is always right there with us. He wants us to take hold of His hand so that He can guide us and show us the right way to go. He doesn’t want us to go astray, but the beauty is, just as I go looking for my son, God will always come looking for us! He wants us safe and on the best path. He already has that path made out for you. He just wants you to be brave and bold and follow Him down that path.
~Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105
~My steps have held to your paths; my feet have not stumbled. Psalm 17:5
When we don’t follow Him down that path, we are lost and always looking for the way to go. The detours we take because we are lost, lead us to harder roads. But God’s light is still shining and showing you the way. Look up and see it. Let Him guide your footsteps on the best path for your life.
Smile and be a blessing!
