Today is a rough one for me. I don’t remember my husband leaving for work, and I barely remember my daughter asking me to do her hair for school. What I do remember is the severe headache I woke up with and the extreme pain that went through every inch of my body. I remember my son asking me to get up so I can make his breakfast, sausage and eggs to be exact, lol.
I fixed him some food, and told him to start his lesson, and I laid my head right back on my pillow. My body just wanted to stay in that position, but God did not want it for me. The Holy Spirit kept speaking to me. The Spirit said, “get up and pray. Encourage.” So I prayed for God to let my feet hit the floor once again and that I would be obedient to the Spirit. I am so thankful for obeying the Holy Spirit. I went and had my morning prayer, and felt a surge of energy. I then knew what I needed to speak on today, “strength”. Strength is what gets me through every single day.
We all have his strength flowing through us but sometimes we allow the weakness of our flesh to tell us that we don’t. Don’t listen to it. God gives us strength all day long because he knows that we are weak. His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)! Amazing! So even if you don’t feel weak, please know that if you are always strong in every area, then what are you allowing God to do? Yes, he is always working, but are you giving him complete control? By accepting the fact that you do have weakness in you, you then can choose to let God work!
Am I still in pain right now? Absolutely! But because I delight in my weakness, I know that His power will rest on me. I pray that as you read this that it encourages your heart to know that even when you are weak, God still can and will use you. He will strengthen that area of weakness, and do exceedingly and abundantly above all that you could have imagined.
1 Chronicle 29:12 says:
Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.
Smile and be a blessing!
