There seems to be a “new” trend going around. Some follow it more closely than others. Some are outraged, some say, it’s nothing new, and others get excited about it. With this new trend families and friends are left with heartache. This “new” trend are the deaths of black lives taken from police officers. There are protests, some peaceful and others filled with people that are letting their anger overtake them. I have been praying and praying over the situation since I was made aware of it. Feeling that, I couldn’t do much more than to pray, but I can. I can use my voice out loud for God to be shown through these times. This morning I encourage you to take courage in God’s Word.
In Ecclesiastes 3, we are taught there is a time for everything. In Ecclesiastes 3:3 it says: There is a time to kill and a time to heal. In versus 16-17 it states: And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgement-wickedness was there, in the place of justice-wickedness was there. I thought in my heart “God will bring to judgement both the righteous and the wicked for there will be a time for every activity, a time for every deed.”
I take courage in those passages. No, it doesn’t mean to go and have a killing spree. Through His Word we know that these things will happen during our lifetime. As a believer of Jesus, I believe His Word. I may not like what is going on in the world today, but I know that God is still in control! He allows us to make choices, yes, and even bad choices. He gives us opportunities to turn around, but it is up to us to go the other way. We all have to stay prayed up, not just for ourselves but praying for others. Prayer is our greatest weapon.
Don’t let your anger cover you, let God’s love cover you and keep you. His love will open doors far past the latest news report. There is so much hate, let his love inside of you tear down that hate. One person can make a difference. We also must forgive those that have taken the lives of others. We must forgive so that we can heal. And remember, no matter what a judge/jury says or does, God has the very last say so. God will judge everyone. Take comfort in that.
I have been encouraged during this time, and I am so thankful to God for it. I have peace now as I continue to be a voice. I pray that you have been encouraged and above anything else that you will not just pray, but to pray without ceasing. There is a war going on, but believe that a time for peace is coming.
Smile and be a blessing
