When I learned about Jesus, I learned about surrender…now that doesn’t mean I did it. I was very young when I learned of him. I didn’t quite understand him really. I knew he was a good man that he was God’s son, and he was sent to die for my sins. The thing is I really didn’t grasp it. I heard the word surrender, and I thought am I at war or something. I mean, because in school I heard surrender when someone gave up on a war. So my confusion continued for years. And even once I thought that I’d surrendered, I realized I hadn’t fully done so.
Surrender is not a onetime thing, it’s an every day thing. Everyday has its own troubles. Situations will arise and seem to overtake us, and that is when we have to remember to surrender. We have to surrender everything to him every day, even the smallest of things. God wants us to give everything to him. He wants to handle it for us, it just starts with us trusting him and surrendering it to him. Surrender is how we will win. We will stop trying to fight alone, when God did not want us to do that. If we are busy fighting all the time, how are we blessing others’ lives? How are we showing Jesus to those that need to see him? How are we living the life of abundance that Jesus came to give us?
I encourage you today to surrender all to him. Give him your marriage, your children, your job, your finances, your health, your home…everything and anything. And once you’ve done this, walk out your faith. Bless someone else. God is right there with you, and if you can’t lift your hands in surrender, he will do it for you, just ask him.
Mark 14:36 “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Be encouraged y’all. Surrender is possible by having faith and trusting in God, even in your hardest times. Keep trusting him and keep surrendering.
Smile and be a blessing
