I sent a daily text message yesterday that the unplanned is planned….that was so very true today! I knew certain things I wanted to get finished at home, but it’s now time to get ready for bed and those things still aren’t done. But something that did get finished was the final touches on our budget! Oh yes!!!!! The look on my husband’s face as I went over everything was priceless. His face looked like my sons when I tell him it’s time for bed! Lol. But the beauty of it was that we have a vision for what we want to do and the steps it will take to accomplish them. In our marriage, we are still learning compromise (and will be for the rest of our lives). For some, comprise may come easier than it is to others….my husband and I are the others! But today, we became closer as we decided the direction we want our finances to go. My pastor (John Siebeling) talks about having a vision, a lot, and I believe that it is so important to have vision for your life. Not just in finances, but for life, period.
Anywho, my husband and I are about to be challenged this weekend, as we are heading out of town and have to stick to our budget. We know certain things we want to do, like stop at Bojangles in Alabama as we head to Georgia and North Carolina. My husband hipped me to Bojangles when we went to his hometown last year and I just have to eat one of their biscuits and chicken! Enough about Bojangles, the point is, we have to stick to a budget and the beauty is that we see eye to eye on something so I know we will succeed (look at God!). Having someone that supports you is truly awesome. If you’re single, you have God first as support, and then it is also nice to have someone that supports you. Someone that you can share your goal with and that will be your accountability partner during your journey. In a marriage, you have God and your partner. I am also blessed to have my sister Kim. She helped me today when I got sidetracked in Kroger and wanted to buy my son another car…which he of course so does not need. I stomped three times like Daniel the Tiger (it’s a kids show that I watch for the kids….) and kept it moving. May I add that I was so proud of myself for doing so. 🙂
I hope that you had a great day and that you have someone in your corner. If you don’t know who can hold you accountable, pray about it. God will reveal to you the right person(s) for the job. Be encouraged during your journey. Tell yourself no, and keep moving in the direction of your vision.
